Uranus (Ancient Greek: Οὐρανός) is an ice giant, the 7th planet from the Sun. It is sometimes visible to the naked eye, and is cyan-colored with barely visible bands. There are no major surface features.

Discovery

Uranus was first discovered using a modern telescope in 1781 by English astronomer William Herschel.

Observation

Uranus is sometimes, though rarely, visible to the naked eye.
