TL;DR:
This is mostly a normal MediaWiki installation with temporary accounts enabled and Matomo used for privacy-first analytics.
What is collected
Public
Anonymous statistics regarding how many times a specific page is viewed are collected by HitCounters and displayed in the bottom half of Special:Statistics.
When you create an account, the following information is collected:
- Your username
- The password you used, in hashed form so we never see your actual password
- Your email, if you give it to us
When you are logged in, MediaWiki uses cookies to store your login sessions. Additionally, your settings (Special:Settings and Special:Preferences), bookmarks, and Echo notifications are stored associated with your account.
When you edit, the following information is collected:
- The contents of the edit
- When you made the edit
- The edit summary you provided
When you edit without an account, you are given a temporary account, ensuring your IP address is never shown to anyone unlike on most wikis. If you wish to be completely anonymous, you can simply edit with a temporary account instead of creating a real one.
Private
As with any webserver, information about all web requests is collected.
A locally-hosted Matomo instance is used.
This wiki intentionally avoids CheckUser to protect your privacy.
Usage
The view counts are used to gauge what pages are the most popular. Your on-site data is used to operate the website. Logs are only accessed when there is a valid reason, like investigating a technical issue.
Private data will never given or sold to a third party.
Retention and removal
Public data will stay on the website until it is removed, eg. a page is deleted, or an account is terminated by request. Private logs are deleted from time to time.
You may request the termination of your own account, and the deletion of deletable associated data. MediaWiki does not support the outright deletion of accounts.
Children
Children are allowed to use this site provided their parents or a guardian know what they're doing and approve of it. In this context, a child is defined as anyone under the age of 13 by COPPA, or whatever age your jurisdiction defines.
A parent may, at any time, revoke their consent and request the termination of a child's account, as well as the deletion of all associated public data that can reasonably be deleted. For example, that includes the child's username attributed to an edit by them, but not the actual contents of the edit unless a separate request is done to delete that too.
We recommend that children use an alias instead of their real name to protect their privacy.
